Special Hunterdon County Wine Trail Weekend This Weekend

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – As recent media attention brings more and more wine-lovers to Hunterdon County, four local wineries have joined forces to showcase the best of the area with a weekend-long wine trail stopping in Pittstown and Ringoes, NJ.
From Friday, January 8, until Sunday, January 10, visitors can stop in each participating winery and enjoy exclusive samplings and a chance to win a grand prize: a mixed case of the best wine Hunterdon County has to offer.
In Pittstown:
Mount Salem Vineyards (54 Mount Salem Road, open 12-6 pm Fri-Sun, 908-735-9359): Proprietor Peter Leitner will release the much-anticipated '2013 Estate Grown Zweigelt', an Austrian red variety known for its spiced cherry and floral notes
Beneduce Vineyards (1 Jeremiah Lane, open 12-8 pm Fri-Sat & 12-6 pm Sun, 908-996-DUCE): Winemaker Mike Beneduce will debut his '2013 Estate Grown Cabernet Franc', a silky smooth red with layers of raspberry and black truffle
In Ringoes: 20 minutes south of Pittstown
Unionville Vineyards (9 Rocktown Road, open 12-5 pm Fri-Sun, 908-788-0400): Assistant winemaker Stephen Johnsen will offer a special reserve tasting of future releases
Old York Cellars (80 Old York Road, open 12-5 pm Fri-Sun, 908-284-9463): Preview tastings of the unreleased 2014 Syrah and relax on a winery tour from 2-3pm, Sat-Sun
At every stop, visitors can collect special tickets to be turned in at the final winery on their tour. Those who collect all four will be entered into a raffle to win the case (12 bottles). Visitors and media can reach out to the individual wineries for questions about the wine trail.
