Join us for our series on
Italian regional cuisine, history & wine.
Trentino-Alto Adige is the northernmost region of Italy, with borders of Austria and Switzerland. The Alpine accented cuisine reflects a blending of German and Italian culture as well as ingredients. Leading the way may be Alto Adige’s gastronomic pride, Speck, but the ingredients are only more amazing from there. Game, wild mushrooms, cheese and polenta party with liverwurst, horseradish, sauerkraut and Knödeln. Apples and grapes take up the remaining precious growing areas, yielding many high altitude, terroir driven, whites, reds and dessert wines. Maybe we’ll even get to turn on the fireplace!
