Jean Giunta has joined Za Restaurant as Chef de Cuisine. Guinta was chef/owner of Andiamo Restaurant in Lambertville, NJ from 2001 – 2007. She is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. The appointment of Chef Guinta was prerequisite to Za’s move to open seven days a week.
“We’re proud to have Chef Guinta join us,” says Mark Valenza, chef/owner of Za. “Not only does she have the skill and experience to maintain our high standards of quality, she also brings her considerable creative talent and expands our repertory of gourmet cuisine.”
Chef Jean’s mushroom and goat cheese strudel appetizer, which she made famous at Andiamo, is now on Za’s seasonal Holiday menu ($12). The dish combines Portobello and Cremini mushrooms with Montrachet goat cheese in baked fillo pastry, and finished with a caramelized onion and mushroom sauce.
