Allentown Celebrate's Revolutionary Patriot David Brearley

David Brearly fought in the Revolution as one of George Washington's closest aids, helped write the U.S. Constitution and signed it on behalf of the State of New Jersey; He went on to become New Jersey's first Chief Justice. He also raised his family and practiced law from a small home on Main Street in Allentown, New Jersey. Despite this remarkable life, not many today know the name "David Brearley."

The public is invited to remember this great American patriot on what would have been his 281st birthday, at noon this Thursday, June 11, 2026.
