Baking the Galette des Rois – Cooking Demo, Alliance Francaise Princeton

In France, at the beginning of the year, families everywhere are enjoying their Galette des Rois, or King Cake. A tradition dating back to the middle-ages, these festive cakes were created to celebrate Epiphany or the arrival of the 3 Magi to Bethlehem. The Galette itself is a beautiful golden pastry, filled with a delicious frangipane (almond cream) and a surprise. Despite its elegance and richness, the Galette des Rois is relatively easy to make and will certainly impress your family and friends.

Join us on Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026 at 6:30pm with our Treasurer, Jim Lesser as he demonstrates how to prepare an authentic Galette des Rois, and if you care to, please feel free to cook alongside Jim to create your own Galette!! Click here for the Recipe.
