Next stop, Pumpkin Junction! Have you ever taken a train to pick pumpkins? We are familiar with holiday trains with Santa or an Easter Bunny train, but a Pumpkin Train was new for me! The Black River & Western Railroad (at the Flemington Outlets) will take you on a 20-minute ride in a late 19th century steam passenger train down to Everitt Farms at Pumpkin Junction in Ringoes for an hour of family fun including pumpkin picking (only $7 a pumpkin of any size), a petting zoo, a corn maze, free hayride, warm lunch food and more! Everitt Farms has been a working farm since 1888 and is home to the Hun-Val Dairy Farm, currently the only single source Jersey Fresh whole milk available in New Jersey. That also means they have Red Barn Milk Co. ice cream too (The Brown Sugar Bourbon is my favorite)! Below are some pictures from my family's excursion this past weekend.
Is there a destination beyond Princeton (within 45 minutes) that we should visit? Let us know!
