Sizzling Summer Heat

The next few days are calling for a heat wave in our neck of the woods. Steamy days perhaps, but perfect for evenings outdoors with the kids. This is the time of year when things start bustling outside, so take your pick this Friday night. Head to Hopewell for music at the Gazebo and picnic in the grass, or join in the fun at the Jazams annual Summer Block Party! It never disappoints and this year Palmer Sq. will be hopping with its usual crafts and food. Let your kids' pick-a-pocket of Jazams favorite skirted lady who will be turning up for sure.

Plus Charlie Hope will be on hand, an award winning, L.A. based, pop-rock singer song writer who has captivated audiences from Los Angeles to Boston with her CD ‘I’m Me’. Don’t miss her show, or the outdoor movie on the green which starts at dusk. This year watch a classic --‘The Muppet Movie’! Seems fitting given this year marks the twentieth year of Jim Henson’s passing.

For many the opening of swim clubs and the end of school marks the beginning of summer. But for my kids, the Summer Block Party is the real beginning of outside fun, late nights and ice cream cones. Otherwise known in our house, as the season when mom is a real pushover.
