Just back from out West where the skies are big, bright and blue. Waking up to the leaden, low, New Jersey sky this morning was a reminder that yes indeed, it is still February.  What we all need is a shot in the arm indulgence to get us from here to spring. Luckily there are many to be had that won’t break the bank, require air travel or fade after a week.

You could take the easy route and head over to Target.  Those mini, colorful chocolate Easter eggs are out; pick up a bag and simply pop one in your mouth. Or if you would prefer a shot of color that appeals to your soul instead of your stomach, take a look at www.stickcandles.com.  You’ll find beautiful beeswax candles hand cast from Adirondack tree cuttings.  Style choices include Cedar, Hemlock, Maple and Knotty Pine. A pair of these will bring a little taste of nature inside and give your table and your mood a boost. With colors like honeysuckle, jade, robin blue, key lime and watermelon pink you won’t need an exotic trip to get a lift through this endless winter. Still want the Easter eggs? These candles come in a dark chocolate shade to help with that. Thank goodness for immediate treats. The good news is that they also carry stick candles at Jane. Run on over now.

Never fear, spring will be here before you know it. The daffodils are pushing up in Georgia already.
