One Small Step for Mankind...

One small step for mankind…

Wouldn’t it be great to help all mankind with just one act? Well there are some small ways that you can help many, if not all, with one simple step.

Become a member of the Arts Council of Princeton and they will give you a golden card; The Arts Card.  Now listen closely. Use your card at McCaffreys and not only will you get a 5% discount, but if you drop your receipt at Trinity Church 1% will also go to the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton. When you sit down to dinner you can rest assured that you have helped your budget, shopped local, supported the Arts and fed the hungry all in one small step. There is a long list of establishments were it can be used. (To say nothing of the savings on camps and classes you get as a member. Ooh la!)

But the real Scoop? Thursday through Sunday this week Hometown Princeton merchants are donating  5 % of sales to the Arts Council. Shop in town this weekend and you help out even more.  Nick Hilton, the Record Exchange, Community Liquors, Jordans and Merricks will be thrilled if you stop in along with 40 other stores taking part. Just look for the Hometown Princeton sign and mention the Arts Council when you pay.

And the big pay off? When you attend the Arts Council’s Halloween parade this year and see the smiling goblins, you’ll know that you’ve done your part. And I’ll know too…
