Ah Valentine’s Day -- A day of candy hearts, hugs, doily valentines and, if Cupid’s paying attention, a dozen roses.  (hmm, where are those roses?)

 That said, want to really make your heart skip a beat and sing this week? Go to the Heifer Living Gift Market on Wed Feb 16^th and give a gift of love that will help hungry, rural families working to improve their lives.  Heifer International ‘sells’ food and income producing animals like pigs, bees, chicks and heifers and delivers them along with technical training in animal care so these families can generate income.  You can buy a share of a goat for $10, a flock of chicks for $20, a share of a water buffalo for $25 or bees for $30.  Here’s a gift that truly will keep on giving. 

This event is a great community event so bring your kids. You’ll find refreshments, music, some live animals and vendor booths. Plus you can learn about an organization that teaches us all how a gift of love comes in many shapes and sizes.
