The reason for the November 14th date? History of the Inn
Since Colonial times, the Rocky Hill Inn welcomed travelers and residents of this charming village, just outside of Princeton. Lovingly restored in space and in spirit, the new Rocky Hill Tavern & Eatery is now a showcase for the inventive cuisine of its new owner and Chef, Evan Blomgren.
The first Tavern license was given to the Harrison family in 1745 and it is quite possible to assume that George Washington, headquartered nearby, raised a glass in the cozy tavern. The building underwent many changes and expansions over the decades. Victoria still rules in the elegant turret, added in the 1800s and now a charming private dining room just off the bar. Rooms were available until after World War II and the Rocky Hill Inn went through several incarnations as a restaurant and bar until the Blomgren family purchased it in 2007.
The majestic building has been elegantly and painstakingly restored with fine antiques, and family heirlooms. Soft colors, deep carpets, chandeliers and two antique fireplaces give the Rockingham Room warmth and intimacy. It’s ideal for that important business lunch, family celebration or romantic dinner. A more casual atmosphere prevails in the Tavern and upstairs, The Homestead Room sets the scene for private parties and meetings.
Chef Evan Blomgren’s outstanding cuisine is available in all.
