Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of having winemaker, Peter Franus, join us for a tasting in the shop. The night was fantastic, and the wines flew out the door. Peter's "Napa Valley Red" was the "rockstar" of the evening, and we ran out quickly. The Bordeaux-style red of 2006 offers elegance and complexity, with an incredible drinkability, and the potential to age for another 5-10 years. Ripe blackberries, black cherry, cinnamon, wintergreen, vanilla, coffee, and floral notes on the nose. The acidity and mouth-feel are more reminiscent of Bordeaux than California--a result of the vintage rather than any winemaking manipulation. The wine is very alive and will hold together for quite some time.
"My ultimate evaluation of any wine I drink is this: do I want to go back to a second or third glass? Yes, I do. And I am my own harshest critic!" - Peter Franus
But never fear, I secured the final cases of the 2006 vintage and I'm offering it to you for a special price. I'm extending the tasting discount of 10% off a bottle, and for those who tasted and would like to stock-up, or if you weren't able to make it to the tasting and heard about missing this fantastic wine, take20% OFF six bottles or more!
Don't miss out!
